Last year, after the hike was over, I was intent on keeping the beard as long as possible…that lasted all of 3 days since we were heading to Mel’s 10 yr reunion…So, here are the pics of the beard coming off…thinking about growing it back, what do you think?

So I know that guys have this obsession with facial hair, and really it only matters what Melissa thinks, cause she’s the one who kisses you and has to look at you, but I think that the beard makes you look older. And I think the long hair makes you look like a fairy. You do have nice hair though. Despite the fact that in the last picture, you’re growling, you look the best in it. …in my humble opinion…

I agree 100%!

Hey man…haven’t been on here for a while. Wanted to check out some of your trail videos and was pleasantly surprised to see that you’ve been keeping up with your blog. You’ve definitely got a talent for writing…more than most AT book authors, anyway, if you ever want to convert your journal into a book. I’d just like to throw my two cents in and say that I think a trimmed beard honestly looks best on you. And not one where you highlight the goatee area, it makes you look a little like a redneck. I know that you will protest, quite correctly, that you *are* a redneck, but if you have any desire of departing from that image, maybe an evenly-grown, neatly trimmed beard is right for you.
Anyway, hope everything’s going good with that babe…and Jake, too. Ha!
Peace,
Bones

Bones,
As always, your perspective intrigues me. I can’t argue my redneck roots, and while I am happy to be known as such, I enjoy a good neatly trimmed beard from time to time. I’ll take your thoughts into consideration as I arm myself to debate facial hair with the wife! Take care, my friend.
